One of the things I love about being in Chicago is the great sense of community and support the local photographers give to one another.  Not too long ago I didn’t have very many friends to go to for advice, but because there are so many great groups out there (i.e. Smugmug Chicago user group, Chicago Photographers, Chicago Trash the Dress, and Chicago Photography Center) I’ve met so many amazing friends! A couple of months ago the Chicago Trash The Dress group did a “trash the dress” session and I hadn’t had a chance to blog the rest of the images until now (yes, I’ve been THAT busy. There were a gazillion gorgeous images that  I have been dying to get to and just too much else on my plate). Tonight was the first night I’d gone through my images in earnest and here were some of the gems I found…. just loved the romantic feel of these! Hope you enjoy! Thx to Melissa Diep who organized this session!

Congratulations to Nataly and Oscar who tied the knot earlier today! They asked me to do a post-ceremony portrait session downtown, and I happily obliged.

People ask me all the time, “What if it rains?” Today, it rained ALL DAY. Non-stop. It was a rain boots, hat, and umbrella kind of day. Where you just want to sit in front of the fireplace drinking tea kind of day.

But here’s the thing about rain. It’s romantic. It makes you want to cuddle up with someone you love. Which worked out perfectly for these two. So, we ended up with this wonderful misty romantic vibe, some beautiful reflections, and barely any people at all the locations we went to :) What more could a gal ask for? It was a dream shooting this session today!

Thank you Nataly and Oscar, I wish you all the best!

This first one is probably my favorite… Love her hair and that flower! It feels so flamenco!

What is more romantic than dancing in the rain on your wedding day?

This one just makes me feel happy:

I know this isn’t a perfect shot, but there’s something about the feeling of it that I love:

There was sun, rain, two glowing faces, a gorgeous dress… and a whole lot of sand. My great, great friends Lisa and Jay finally tied the knot a little over a week ago and I did this post-wedding shoot for them a couple of days later. We were battling with the weather, and by the time we hit the beach we were soaked – but it added such a romantic element to it, I wouldn’t have wished it any other way! This was absolutely the dirtiest I ever got on a shoot, rolling around in wet sand – but it was worth it! Their chemistry is so amazing, I loved every minute!

Lisa and Jay – it was an honor standing up in your wedding. Love you guys so much and wish you only the best out of life!

They are both so ridiculously good-looking, it’s just not fair.

This shot defines them so well. They are a riot together!

Hotness!
