month: January 2010

When I walked into the office today, there was a nice big package waiting for me. My studio sample had arrived! I love opening new packages, especially when they contain beautiful goodies inside! One of the most aggravating things (and admittedly why I’ve been a slacker on updating my own personal images in my home) is that I’m too lazy to go get a decent frame for images that I’m in love with. So I end up with a gorgeous print sitting in a box. For months. I’d be much more efficient at getting my images up on the wall if I didn’t have to figure out what kind of frame to put it in… My new solution? Box framed prints. Now available at Vanessa Frosch Photography!

I oozed with excitement as I carefully opened the package – it was perfection in a box! I’ve been staring at it. All day. I’m kind of in love with it.

The images are printed on fine art quality paper, then they’re mounted on a masonite board and set into a beautiful wooden box frame.  It is such an elegant way to display your most cherished moments. The quality of the print is fantastic! And the frame – gah, I’m loving, loving, loving it!

Here’s what it looks like. This one’s a 12×18″. Jaime and Dan are fabulous, aren’t they?

Here it is from a different angle, so you can see how it lays against the wall. Underneath that, you’ll see the original image.

Another angle so you can see the frame better:

Just looking at it on the wall makes me smile. See how quickly I got it up there? Yep. These are the best.

I kept trying to come up with some gimicky theme for my first blog post of 2010 - my top 20 favorite photos of 2009, top 10 couples of 2009, etc.

Luckily, it’s my blog and I get to make the rules.

Instead of limiting myself to a certain number of photos that were my ‘favorites’, I’ll show you the ones that were special to me based on how they made me *feel* and how they’ve helped me grow personally. I learned more about myself than I ever have in a single year. There were extreme ups and downs, and each feeling was worth the experience because at the end of it, I came out a little wiser and I’d like to think helped build up a little character. They say you find a bit of yourself in every photo you take. I couldn’t agree more.

In 2009, I have felt pure exhilaration, trying things I’ve never attempted before:

I have felt that warm, fuzzy, innocent kind of wonder:

I have felt extreme loss:

And extreme faith:

I have felt imaginative:

And playful:

And sensual:

And colorful:

I have felt like a kid in a candy store:

…like I didn’t have a single care in the world:

And most of all, I have felt myself in love:
