month: October 2009
As promised, here are some of my favorite shots of Luke from last Sunday’s session. He’s 2 and a half and is quite a talkative little man! He loved seeing himself in the lens of the camera:
He loves his bubbles!
He is truly mama’s little boy:
But he looks just like his dad, I think!
Here’s a family shot that I loved:
Isn’t he a sweetie?
It was an all day baby fest last Sunday. I loved it! My morning started off with a trip to the burbs to visit baby Katelyn who is 4 months old, followed by a downtown shoot of 2 year old Luke, whose photos I will be blogging shortly. Here are some of Katelyn. Her eyes are so blue! I love the look on her face here:
But she was much happier with her clothes off
I think there is yoga in her future:
Her mommy and daddy, Jenny and Mark, love her so much!
So does their dog, Charlie:
I love baby feet
Thanks Mark, Jenny, and Katelyn! See you in a few months!
Liezl and Joe have been together ever since I could remember them in high school. Yes, it’s been that long! They’ve been good friends of ours for awhile now and I’m so happy to see them finally tying the knot. We had a fun downtown shoot with lots of beautiful light and these two were simply radiant together.
Congratulations you two love birds! Justin and I wish you all the best life has to offer!
I had a major problem picking my favorites. I’m not kidding. There are LOTS of photos to look at so sit back and enjoy
Without further ado… here they are.
Joe told me he was “smizing” – as in smiling with your eyes. As in – he watches Tyra Banks and picks up her lingo
Congratulations to Nataly and Oscar who tied the knot earlier today! They asked me to do a post-ceremony portrait session downtown, and I happily obliged.
People ask me all the time, “What if it rains?” Today, it rained ALL DAY. Non-stop. It was a rain boots, hat, and umbrella kind of day. Where you just want to sit in front of the fireplace drinking tea kind of day.
But here’s the thing about rain. It’s romantic. It makes you want to cuddle up with someone you love. Which worked out perfectly for these two. So, we ended up with this wonderful misty romantic vibe, some beautiful reflections, and barely any people at all the locations we went to
What more could a gal ask for? It was a dream shooting this session today!
Thank you Nataly and Oscar, I wish you all the best!
This first one is probably my favorite… Love her hair and that flower! It feels so flamenco!
What is more romantic than dancing in the rain on your wedding day?
This one just makes me feel happy:
I know this isn’t a perfect shot, but there’s something about the feeling of it that I love:
They met in the middle of the airport. Omar was leaned up against the wall and as he saw Sultana walk by he smiled at her. Apparently, she could not resist. Ten years later, they are still madly in love and have a beautiful family to show for it. The happy couple is celebrating their ten year anniversary this year, and since they never had a chance to get proper wedding photos taken, they wanted to do them now. I thought it was a wonderful idea!
When I talked to Sultana on the phone, she explained that she would be wearing a traditional Pakistani outfit, and I was thrilled! I absolutely love the colors she wore! All in all, the weather cooperated, their kids are gorgeous, and Omar and Sultana were a blast, so I was a happy camper today!
Here are some of my favorites:
Here are their two cuties, Mateo and Jacob:
When Sultana and I chatted, she was nervous about how she would look. Are you kidding me?
Right, absolutely beautiful…
I was so in love with her outfit, I had to capture the details:
There’s something about this last one, it’s so natural, and so them…
There doesn’t always have to be a life-altering reason to have your photos taken. My sister and her husband didn’t have an anniversary to celebrate, a birthday, or any other significant milestone that they felt compelled to document. Since they introduced their baby girl Valentina to the world over a year ago, the dynamics of who they are as a couple, as parents of this little life, have changed them forever in ways I know they never dreamed. And their relationship has flourished.
Last weekend, we spent a couple of hours just focusing on the two of them and the relationship they share today. It reminded me that everyday there’s a reason to celebrate. Just because.
Here are my favorite images:
While my sister has always said she looks bad in photos, I have to beg to differ. She is ridiculously beautiful! They are both so photogenic!
See what I mean?
