month: June 2009

What does a workaholic like me do in the middle of the night? Experiment with photos, apparently. As Justin has been sound asleep for the past hour and I have no one to reprimand me for staying up so late, I’m letting my addiction get the better of me. Did I mention these two are gorgeous?

I keep updating this post. It’s like an illness, really! But how stinkin’ cute are they?

I had the honor of photographing Debbie and Dean yesterday, who are expecting their baby girl in September! Have you ever met someone who seems to know just about everyone you can think of? That’s Debbie and Dean in a nutshell – they are that super cool couple that everyone wants to be around, and I’m proud to say they are some of our closest friends. Their daughter-to-be is one lucky gal! Debbie is an amazing hair colorist at Ulta (I literally WON’T trust anyone else with my hair), and Dean runs his own residential and commercial air duct cleaning business. Here are some of my favorites from their shoot. Congrats Debbie and Dean - love you guys and can’t wait to meet Milan!

Dean kneeled down to talk to his baby girl. Can you feel how excited he is to meet his little one?!

We headed back to Debbie’s mom’s house for a few more photos of the belly. I hope I look as good as her when it’s my turn!

I had a fabulous evening with Scott and Anna, who are getting married later this summer. I am so blown away by how in love these two truly are, and how ridiculously good looking they are to boot. It was a perfect downtown summer day and though I’m used to getting lots of Chicago shots with buildings and pavement – we were also able to head to the beach, where it suddenly seemed like we were in a tropical paradise. All in all it was a great evening for shooting, especially with this stunning pair! They were so easy going and obviously head over heels for each other. Congrats, you two! I can’t wait for the big day!!

Um, can you say drop dead gorgeous?

Anna used to model, can you tell?

Scott kept telling me that he looked bad next to Anna and that I should focus on her face most of the time… but I think he’s being too modest. I don’t know if I’m imagining things but is anyone else reminded of Daniel Craig on this next one?

Just taking a quick break from my vacation in Key West to share a few of the photos from Kati and Mike’s wedding yesterday. It was just beautiful!

Justin and Mike have been best friends for more than half their lives, and in all the time he’s known Mike he has never seen him as happy as he is with Kati. When we found out that they were getting married, we knew Mike was making THE best decision in his life.

I was lucky enough to witness one of the most important milestones of their lives, and watching my husband stand up as the best man for his best friend couldn’t have been more perfect.  It was a simple ceremony, an intimate gathering of their closest friends and family. I couldn’t have pictured it any other way for these two.

On such an important day, I felt blessed. Blessed that I was entrusted to honor their memories through these photographs, blessed to be one of the handful of people in the whole world who were able to witness this moment in person, and blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people and wonderful friends.

Mike and Kati, we wish you a long and happy life together. I think you’ve found your happily ever after! We love you!

These guys heart one another.

One final fun shot…

Till next time!

Back at the beginning of May, I shot my first official wedding since the start of my business last year… I’ve been plugging away at edits but took a break from that to create this slideshow… So sit back, put your headphones on, and enjoy! Pat & Jelena – happy almost 1 month anniversary! To view the slideshow click here.

I had to put one more photo on this entry… I just love the feel of this one. Happy June everyone! This year is flying by!
