month: May 2009

Here’s the newest addition to the Little family. I had so much fun meeting little Mia. I haven’t had many opportunities to photograph the teeny tiny newborns, so I was very excited about today’s session! Thanks Brian and Diane! A few of my favorites:

She must be having a sweet dream! Beautiful little grin!

I’ve been a prolific blogger in the past day and a half… Last one for the weekend (I think!) Here are some photos from Valentina’s birthday.

Some of the details:

Here’s the little bubs:

This is how we roll at Filipino parties… Yum!

The kiddos (yes, this includes Justin and RJ) getting their bocce ball game on…

A few of us in the office have been taking quick lunch breaks and getting outside to shoot for about 20 minutes… We’re lucky to have the playground of downtown Chicago. And even luckier this Friday that the sky was just PERFECT! This week’s challenge was architecture. Here are a couple of my favs…

I had a fantastic morning with Madeline, Claire, and Isabelle…

The girls welcomed me into their home with a private dance party in their room…

Can you say divas?!

Madeline and Claire couldn’t get enough of the jumping shots… I had to indulge them one more time :)

Isabelle with her mommy Allison… I am so in love with this shot!

I’m buried right now… a million things to get done and I don’t know where to start. Two papers to get done this week, photos to process, and trying to squeeze in some ‘me’ time too. I’m using Memorial Day to play catch up, so by this time tomorrow, I am hoping to have tackled a big portion of my to-do list.

As part of my ‘me’ time – how about I share some cute personal pics? (I knew that’s what you were hoping for!) I have the cutest nephews in the world, I’m sure of it! Every time I think of them, I get a big cheesy smile on my face… And so should you!

You may recognize this little cutie from the home page of my website. This is Ben, and he’s already 15 months old!

We started off at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and then headed over to the Lincoln Park Zoo. All in all, this proved to be a pretty cool day for Ben – he got to run around almost anywhere he wanted and have me chase him everywhere he went! Last time I saw him, he wasn’t walking yet. Ben has become bit more mobile since then. This is what I tried keeping up with all morning:

He did have a few fractions of a second where he’d stop and pose very nicely for me :)

I found out what a dog lover he is too! Here he is making friends with a pooch at the park:

A nice family shot:

He had his grandparents with him today too!

Having some fun with dad:

Thanks Katy, Jason, and Ben! Had a lot of fun today!

I’m taking a quick break from homework to bring you some of my favorites from Guillen’s 1 year photo session…enjoy! Aren’t they a beautiful family?

I had a couple sessions this weekend for Valentina and Guillen who both recently turned a year old! I’ll have more to share soon, but in the meantime here are just two from the weekend:

Yesterday was a major milestone in my photography career, and I owe it all to the gorgeous couple below. I shot my very first wedding, and I couldn’t be more honored to have been able to share this day with Pat & Jelena. We met just last year at a mutual friend’s wedding in Jamaica, and I of course, couldn’t put my camera down the entire trip. Jelena noticed how passionate I was about photography, and after seeing some of my work she and Pat approached me about shooting their engagement photos, and eventually their wedding.

We had a fantastic session last July for their engagement photos, and after several months of anticipation, the big day finally came! Jelena looked absolutely radiant!

The setting: The Allerton Hotel in downtown Chicago, and group photos at Millenium Park. I am one lucky lady to have this one be my first!

Now, enough talking, onto the photos! This first one is my favorite shot of the day:

This was at the beginning of the day while Jelena was getting ready:

Her dress was phenomenal:

As I browsed through some of the photos today, this one literally made me tear up. It is just so timeless and classic, I can feel the love in the room!

Pat and the boys:

The ladies looking sharp!

And I’ll leave you with my 2nd favorite shot of the entire day:

Jelena and Pat: Thank you for trusting me to document your wedding, and believing I could capture the beauty of your special day in the light that it deserved. It truly was an honor.  Justin and I send out our heart felt congratulations to you both!! Enjoy your time in Greece!

Stay tuned for part 2 of Pat & Jelena’s Wedding… I’ve just gone through some of the photos, and I have some great moments at the reception I’ll want to share :)

There is a really good story here, I promise :) . Part of our team project in our Creativity in Business class last week was to teach a chapter from our book… We had an hour and a bunch of legos, clay, post-its, and markers for inspiration. And of course, my camera. We decided on a story board. Our topic: The lone inventor – and we debunked the myth…

Taking a couple steps back, we started off with our lone inventor – “The Hoff” who invented his Superfly Thing a Ma Jig (seemingly all on his own), becoming an overnight success. (Note how “The Hoff” used Bush-Head’s tree.)

Well, I think you get the point. There is no lone inventor (duh). But we had fun using our legos to prove it!

Ahhhh… this MBA is going to pay off big :) Really. And, I love this class.

On other news, be on the lookout for Jelena & Pat’s wedding post – I’m shooting my very first wedding tomorrow and am stoked! It’s going to be great! And, THANK YOU JUSTIN for supporting me and being my assistant and 2nd shooter! You are the best husband in the world!
